FLOATERS

Picture
London 1890.

Out of the Thames’ fetid depths the undead rise to feast upon the living. While floaters seek blood, another army takes advantage of the chaos. Boiling out of their rookeries of crime, marauders swarm through London’s affluent neighborhoods looting and burning.

While the beleaguered police and the Queen’s army battle twin plagues—human and inhuman—London’s criminal youth gangs join forces to save their city. Will Tagget, leader of the Lambeth Lads, together with his enemies Bill Drummond of the Drury Lane Gang, bull-necked George Fish of the Elephant and Castle Gang, shillelagh-wielding Dirk Bogart of the New Cut Gang, Quincy Bird of City Road, along with their female counterparts—Lambeth Kate, Queen Jane, New Cut Beth, Razor Lil and Dirty Deidre—set out on an adventure the telling of which might earn a man a lifetime of free drinks. If he lives to tell it.

Correspondences Trilogy
I'm pleased to announce J. Ellington Ashton Press will publish my epic Correspondences Trilogy, beginning with Night's Plutonian Shore, and followed by The Clocks of Midnight, and The Mirror of Eternity.

In a universe where the world and all we know is just the lowest plane of existence and horrors wait on the astral planes and in the angles of time to feast on the unwary traveler, it's up to a neophyte wizard and a fledgling sibyl to keep the cosmic wolves at bay.

Night’s Plutonian Shore

Frank Scott, Jr. was a sickly child but a life-threatening disorder transformed him into a hulking teen with fists like sacks of gravel and a penchant for stealing cars. His older brother Rick worries Frank will end up in jail…or dead. Their fights are epic. Delores Ferguson can’t wait to leave school, get a job and put distance between herself and her lecherous stepdad.

Their problems are about to get a lot worse.

Researching sustainable energy at Stevens Tech, Rick’s best friend Wally has discovered a means to tap into the bioplasmic energy field that surrounds all living things. He envisions trains and office towers running off collective psi. But when he invites them to test his psychotronic generator, they unleash demons residing in the human old brain, the seat of primal drives.

As the body count rises, it becomes clear that, for these creatures of the id to survive, their creators must perish. Pursued by the police and hunted by their doubles, the choice is simple—kill or be killed.

But while Rick draws the line at murder, his doppelgänger does not.

The Clocks of Midnight

At a multiple-vehicle accident in Memphis, EMT Rick Scott hears a dead man whisper, “It’s begun…the feeding.” In Montreal, a monstrous shadow attacks centuries-old horologist and priest of the Goddess, Reginaldo da Silva, damaging the mandala that binds the chains of the Pleiades. In Arkansas, Talmaiel, a rogue Watcher who escaped the avenging angels in the days of Enoch, leads a biker army to free his brothers from the Abyss. Meanwhile, Rick’s girlfriend Delores, attacked by another of the shadow demons, is spirited off by two Valkyrie-like twins to an enchanted garden where she meets the Goddess and joins the Sibyline Sisterhood.

Beneath Arkansas’ Ouachita range lies the world’s biggest deposit of quartz crystals, a vein a hundred seventy miles long and forty miles wide. The piezoelectric quartz, combined with magnetic loadstone and radium-rich water create huge electromagnetic fields that resonate with the earth’s magnetic core. And with the stars.

Atop Crystal Mountain, Rick learns Grigori blood runs in his veins, as it does in all who possess psychic powers.

As the Hour of the Nephilim approaches, Rick must choose to side with humanity—or become a prince among the Fallen.

The Cosmic Clock is ticking.

The Mirror of Eternity

In Manhattan, tenements, marine supply warehouses and gin joints replace the South Street Seaport. On the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, a deadly pileup leaves dozens dead when train service, decommissioned since 1958, suddenly resumes. All over the world, neighborhoods are disappearing, replaced by relics of the past.

In the Desert of Dudael, the demon Azazel is released from the pit where he has dwelled for millennia. On the frozen world of Abyss beyond the gates of the Pleiades, the Grigori, fallen angels banished from earth in the time of Enoch, prepare for their return. But the world is vanishing. Soon there will be battleground for neither man nor demon.

Memphis EMT Rick Scott has sworn off magic, but when he receives a summons from his former mentor, Reginaldo Balthazar Tavares da Silva, two-hundred-year-old Priest of the Goddess and Rex Nemorensis, he must travel the ravaged wasteland of time and gaze into the mirror of eternity before the world plunges into the white-hot singularity of creation.

To complete the task, Rick must become Rex Nemorensis. But to claim the title, he must slay his mentor. And time is not without its perils—there are those that dwell within its labyrinth who would sate their unspeakable hunger on the unwary traveler.
